Calling all Kill Team commanders! Grognard Games & Hobbies Batavia is excited to host a massive Kill Team "OPEN" Matched Play Tournament spanning two days of tactical skirmish warfare.

This is an OPEN format event, meaning commanders may select Any Classified or Unclassified Kill Team to field. Whether you are chasing the meta or championing a narrative favorite, your operatives are welcome here.

📅 Event Details

• Dates: Saturday, May 16th – Sunday, May 17th, 2026

• Time: 11:00 AM Start (Both Days)

• Location: Grognard Games Batavia (1375 Wind Energy Pass, Batavia, IL 60510)

• Entry Fee: $60.00

• Player Cap: 36 Players

⚔️ Tournament Format

This is a Two-Day Event featuring a competitive, 6-round format.

• Structure: 3 Rounds on Saturday, 3 Rounds on Sunday.

• Pairings: Swiss-style pairings via the Best Coast Pairings (BCP) app.

• Round Timer: Players have two hours to complete each mission.

• Missions: Matches will follow the Matched Play Mission Sequence from the Kill Team: Approved Ops Card Pack.

Rules & Regulations:

• Team Selection: Any Classified or Unclassified Kill Team is legal. (See Warhammer Community Downloads).

• Terrain: Killzones will feature a mix of Volkus Tombworld, Gallowdark, WTC terrain, and Bheta Decima.

• Cutoff: All Balance Dataslates and Errata released before May 9th, 2026, will be in effect.

We are vying for victory, but we reward hobby passion and community spirit just as highly!

• Top 3: Awards for the top-ranking generals.

• Best Painted: Awarded to the most visually stunning army.

• Best Sportsmanship: Awarded to the player who exemplifies the spirit of the game.

• ☠️ The Emperor’s Mercy: A unique prize drawing! For each loss a player sustains, they are entered into a random draw for prizes. Even in defeat, the Emperor provides!

📝 Registration & Logistics

• Registration: Limited to 36 players. A waitlist will be created if the event reaches capacity.

• Waitlist Policy: Players who drop out will be replaced by those on the waitlist on a first-come, first-served basis.

• Community: Join the Grognard Games Discord to coordinate with other players and get updates.
