Community Kill Team League
Welcome to our Grognard Games’ Community Kill Team League! Over the course of this event you and your coterie of elite troops (or hyperviolent power armored loons) will be facing off across a myriad of head to head games and Joint Ops, meeting all sorts of friendly community members that love the same game you do, and pursuing bounties in order to get more chances at end of league awards!
The League Structure is designed to be simple and flexible, allowing players to participate as much or as little as they want without penalty. Here’s how it works:
o First, make sure you’ve joined the Grognard Games discord (https://discord.gg/hvYPjYTuqK)
o Next, grab the Kill Team role in the Discord Roles channel (if you’re having trouble finding it, ask staff to give you a hand!)
o After that, you’ll be free to ping @killteam in the Kill-team-league channel with your desired date, time, and which Grognard Games location you’re looking to get in your match.
o From here on you can simply follow this process whenever you have time to find games!
o Post up your after-action reports in the kill-team-league channel. Pictures are encouraged!
o Report achieved bounties from the list below by messaging Derek (derek) in the discord to record your progress and get Killmarks.
o For the purposes of bounties, anything referring to an enemy operative or game also applies to Joint Ops and NPOs.
o At the end of the league all Killmarks from our participating players will be pooled and we’ll draw multiple names for prize support! No one can win a prize more than once, but the more you score the more likely you’ll be drawn!
o The intention here is that it’s possible to achieve just a couple things and still get something from the league (of course, not counting the fun you got from your games!) while allowing people eager for tons of grimdark spec-ops action to still be rewarded for it.
BOUNTY BOARD
The following can be achieved any number of times and are each worth one Killmark unless otherwise stated:
o Death From Above: Play a game.
o F.N.G. : Teaching someone the game. (playing with someone that started with hivestorm)
o Doing Soap Proud: Win or Draw a game. (for Players that started Kill Team with Hivestorm)
o Aftermath: Post a battle report in the kill-team-league channel in the discord. (this can be pictures and a game summary, a narrative, etc)
o From Gray Plastic to Black Ops: Painting a model to Battle Ready and posting it in the discord.
o Crew Expendable: Play your first game with a new team that you got during the league. (10 Tickets)
The following can be achieved once each and are each worth 2 Killmarks:
o Walking Dead: End a game with no surviving Operatives.
o Just a Scratch: End a game without losing any Operatives.
o Shock and Awe: Eliminate an Operative and/or score a mission objective in 3 back to back activations. (for example, your first model eliminates an enemy, your second model scores an objective, and your third model scores an objective) (3 tickets)
o Hunted: Eliminate at least half of your opponent's Operatives in one turning point.
o Acceptable Losses: Win a game with a single Operative remaining.
o War Pig: Eliminate 90 wounds worth of NPO’s in a Joint Op.
o The Bog: Win a Joint Op with less than a quarter of both player’s Operatives remaining.
o Heat: Eliminate an enemy and your own model in one attack with a weapon with the Hot special rule.
o One Shot, One Kill: Eliminate an enemy Leader with your Leader.
o 360 No-Scop with Air Horns: Eliminate 3 enemies over the course of your games with a Sniper type weapon (weapon with the Silent trait on any of its profiles)
o Mom get the camera: Have a single operative eliminate 5 enemy operatives in one game.
o Martyrdom: Eliminate an enemy operative with a grenade.
o Marathon Commando Pro: Charge and eliminate 10 enemy operatives in melee over the course of your games.
o Earn a Winged Dagger: Win two games with Tempestus Aquilons, or eliminate a total of 16 Tempestus Aquilon operatives over the course of your games.
o Dancing in the Dark: Play three games on the Gallowdark terrain format.
o Save the Bacon: Play two games with the Loot Crit Op active.
o The Package: Play two games with the Transmission Crit Op active.
o The Rescue: Successfully complete the Escape Joint Op.
o The Fourth Horseman: Successfully complete the Breach Joint Op.
o Wrong Number: Use a one-use weapon and have it fail to do any damage.
o Down Boy Down: Eliminate an enemy ‘attack dog’ type operative (this would include stuff like the Aquilon Servo Turret, the Kommando Squig, the Necron Plasmacytes, the Blooded Ogryn, basically a model in the kill team that is substantially different physically to its peers, and not in a leader sort of way)
o Ghillies in the Mist: Eliminate an enemy operative with a concealed operative.
o Mile High Club: Eliminate 5 enemy operatives with an operative on Vantage terrain over the course of your games.
o No Rest for the Weary: Eliminate 5 injured enemy operatives in melee over the course of your games.
o Roadkill: Eliminate 3 enemy operatives in melee with an Elite-type operative (ie a 3apl model) that does not have a dedicated melee weapon (ie the model is equipped primarily with a ranged weapon and has something likes ‘fists’ or ‘knife’, not ‘chainsword’, as its melee profile)
At the end of the league everyone's Killmark totals will be pooled and names will be drawn from them similarly to a raffle. Amount of names pulled will depend on participation, and each participant can only have their name pulled once.

Bolt Action “Home Before Christmas” Escalation League
Greetings, recruit and welcome to our Bolt Action “Home Before Christmas” Escalation League! Starting with smaller skirmish games before growing into all-out war, this league will help familiarize you with our welcoming community for one of the best WW2 themed games in production!
The play structure of the league is as follows:
Week 1 (November 10-17th) will be 500pt games using the standard bolt action mission generation found in the 3rd edition rulebook. You can use any size table you like, but a 4’x4’ space is recommended.
Week 2 (November 17th-24th) will be 800pt games using the standard Bolt Action mission generation found in the 3rd edition rulebook. These can be played on the full 6’x4’ table without it feeling too spread out and sparse.
Week 3 (November 24th - December 22nd) will be games of any size agreed upon between players, using any missions found in the Bolt Action 3rd edition rulebook (including the narrative missions if both players agree)
The last week of December (December 22nd-31st) will be used as an extension for the last week of the league due to the holiday season likely slowing everyone’s plans, so if you have any last minute games or forgotten battle reports to post you can squeeze those in here!
In order to find games and schedule for the League, please follow the resources below:
Games can be played any day of the week for the league, as long as it's at a Grognards location!
Wednesdays at Grognards Roselle during the course of the League will have at least one person here and available to play in the evening, along with a printout of League Medals.
Important: We have an active discord for all our Grognards communities that you can find following our QR codes in store, on our reward cards, or by following this link (https://discord.gg/hvYPjYTuqK )!
Using the discord and grabbing the Bolt Action role to chat about the hobby, see pings when events go live, or get notified when people are looking for games is a huge help in connecting with your local community. Schedule differences, days off, and all the hiccups life can push on us often interfere with gaming days, so having the additional connectivity with the community you play your games with is a huge help!
If you’re not familiar with discord and would like help setting it up, employees at any grognards location should be able to help you get it navigable and set notifications to only when you or the games you play are pinged.
League Medals and Awards
During these weeks of community, gaming, and hobbying you’ll be gathering Medals by completing the various themed tasks and achievements listed below. When you complete an achievement, inform Derek through the Grognards Discord and he’ll get your medals recorded.
At the conclusion of the league, we’ll pool everyone’s accumulated medals and randomly draw names from the pool for rewards. No one can receive more than one reward, and this format gives everyone that participates a chance at getting a lucky draw!

Welcome to our semi-regular 40k Community Paired League! This paired 6 week league is intended to help onboard newer players into head to head games, scheduling using online community platforms, and introduction to the Grognards 40k Community while also providing a fun experience for all players regardless of experience by utilizing less ‘tourney standard’ rules and encouraging cooperation, community, and learning in head to head matches paired against someone on your winpath. Expect to see weird missions, first draft lists, and new friends!
The league structure is as follows:
· When the League begins you will be randomly paired with another person in the league, and in each following week you will be paired into a new opponent with your same placings record. It is up to you to find a time when you’re both available to meet up and play, and can play at both Grognards locales any time within each week of the league. This necessitates using the official Grognard Community Discord which you can find by going to our website ( grognardgames.com ) and looking for the link in the top left corner of the screen, using this link ( https://discord.gg/PXstNMefvV ), or through our in-store QR codes for your phone. This is the community resource center and best source of information on getting in contact with other local players, and participating in the league will not function without this vital resource for communication.
o There is a 40k League channel, posting in there will help you find your opponents and you can always message Derek for help!
o Pairings for your opponents will be posted to Best Coast Parirings (more on that later) when the league starts, and you will need to submit your results after your game each week.
o If both players are unable to find a time they can meet up they can request a 50-50 draw result by messaging Derek, the event organizer.
o If one player fails to reply to all attempts to contact them they will be given a loss and dropped from the event.
o If extenuating circumstances prevent a player from making their agreed upon game time and they are unable to reschedule, they will be scored as a loss but remain in the event.
· Each game will be 2000pts (you do not need to use the same list each week, just the same faction) using the Pariah Mission pack, and each of your pairings will be a specific mission set as follows in the format of Primary Mission/Mission Rule/Deployment:
o Pairing 1 – Linchpin / Hidden Supplies / Hammer and Anvil
o Pairing 2 – Burden of Trust / Fog of War / Tipping Point
o Pairing 3 – The Ritual / Adapt or Die / Sweeping Engagement
o Pairing 4 – Purge the Foe / Rapid Escalation / Search and Destroy
o Pairing 5 – Scorched Earth / Swift Action / Crucible of Battle
o Pairing 6 – Take and Hold / Smoke and Mirrors / Tipping Point
§ Take pictures of your games! This is important for one of the league activities!
· At the end of 6 weeks, there will be a pod created for each group of 4 players in the same bracket (ie 1st-4th place will be put in a pod, 5th-8th will be put in a pod, etc). They will have 2 weeks to get their games in, and once completed the winner of each will be the victor of their bracket, and the winner of the top pod will be the League Champion! These games are optional outside the top pod but are a great way to get more games in!
These missions are as follows:
o Semi-Finals – Purge the Foe / Prepared Positions / Crucible of Battle
o Finals – Scorched Earth / Raise Banners / Hammer and Anvil
· The league will be using Best Coast Pairings ( bestcoastpairings.com ) to organize and record your week to week scores as well as pair you into your opponents. After your game is finished, submit your score through Best Coast Pairings, and notify Derek if you’re having any problems with it (I can input your score manually if necessary).
o Make sure you have an account on it preferably attached to your Grognards account email, or you can contact Derek on the discord to clarify your BCP email.
o Once the league starts you will receive a message to this email prompting you to upload your list. You do not have to upload a full list, you can change it each game, instead simply record your Faction and your Discord Name here. Make sure you put your discord username at the top of your army list upload so that your opponent can easily find you!
· Post a battle report of your game in the 40k Paired League channel on the discord and @Derek with your post! Could be as simple as some pictures, could be as detailed as a fluffy narrative spin, what battle plans were going through your head during the game, if you had a good time, all valid types of things to post as your battle report!
If you paint any units during the course of the league, post them in the Hobby and Painting channel and @Derek with your post. Show off your stuff to the community and see what other folks are up to!
Rewards structure has been simplified for ease of use:
If you submit at least 5 Battle Reports to the 40k league channel in the discord, your ticket entry will be reimbursed to you as store credit!
