Come on out to da biggest scrap this side of The Great Rift! This 40k Apocalypse battle will last for 4 rounds of death and destruction with a couple rules changes from the 10th edition ruleset. The main goal of this game is to have fun and bring out things you normally wouldn't play in 2k games. Nothing is cooler than dropping 60 terminators on an opponent, the sky clogged with the smog of a table full of tanks, or the blaring warhorns emanating from titans of war! This is a causal event so please treat your opponents (and allies) with respect. We are here to roll dice, laugh at crazy moments, and to enjoy the hobby bringing us together. If for any reason you are not having a good time, please let Jeff know on the side so we can find a solution to remedy that.
Army lists
Each player needs to bring a 2,000 point army. In addition, you can bring any super heavies you own. Please make sure that the army you bring can be played in a timely manner. You can have up to 6 units of the same datasheet and If the Datasheet has the Battleline Keyword then there is no Datasheet limit. Sensible proxies are allowed but must follow the correct base size for what they’re portraying and should be close to the size of what they represent. If you need help getting to 2,000 points feel free to reach out to Jeff Sauer on Facebook or our discord (https://discord.com/invite/NC2RQgFk99) and we can help find models for you to use.
Please send your list to dawaaaghbeforechristmas@gmail.com no later than 12/05 so teams can be determined and balanced. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to email me at dawaaaghbeforechristmas@gmail.com or message Jeff Sauer in our Discord (https://discord.gg/xkeSFTaAEC
Teams composition
There will be 2 teams each composed of up to 10 players. I will try to put as many of the ork players as I can on one side to represent the great Waaagh! Each team will have 1 team Captain called “Da Warboss” which will be the spokesperson for that team and any decisions made on behalf of that team. The warbosses will also help me with ensuring the game is proceeding on pace so we can get all 4 rounds in
Rule changes
The following rule changes from the 10th edition ruleset will be in effect.
- When a battleline unit is destroyed it is placed back into reserves. Battleline units put into reserves this way can only enter a table edge inside your deployment zone If a battleline unit is below half starting strength at the end of a battle round you can choose to destroy it and place it in reserves at full strength.
- All Monsters, Vehicles, and models with T8 or higher are not removed until the end of the battle round. This ensures that everyone gets a chance to use their coolest models! If a model has zero wounds left during its activation it must use its damaged rules (ex. With 1-X wounds remaining, this model subtracts 1 from hit rolls). If the destroyed model is a transport, any embarked inside that transport must immediately disembark as soon as it loses its last wound and follow the rules in the core rulebook for Destroyed Transports. Deadly demise will be rolled at the end of the battle round for any models with 0 wounds remaining.
Objectives:
Each team will be fighting for secret objectives which will be assigned at the beginning of the game. These objectives will be described in detail once teams have assembled.
Teef Tradin’
Each player will receive an ork toof at the beginning of the game. At any point when you would be able to use the command point reroll stratagem you instead can trade the toof to your opponent (Person you are rolling dice against) to reroll a dice result. If you have received multiple teef you can trade them in one go to reroll several dice. At the end of the game I will ensure everyone leaves with an ork toof to commemorate the battle!
